Babies need a LOT of attention. As a parent, we kind of know that going into it! It’s not about what your kid can do for you as a parent, it’s about giving your all into them. Still, we can be surprised when our little ones do something that touch our hearts and, in their own way, give something back.
For one dad, his newborn girl didn’t just touch his heart, she literally saved it.
Jonathan Cedillo has recently hit the news when his incredible story broke. It all happened when he went to the hospital to see his newborn daughter. Juliette, his daughter, had just arrived a month early and he was ecstatic to meet her.
Cedillo got to the hospital to pick up his wife and daughter and everything seemed totally normal.
Although he had recently been experiencing some random shooting pains in his shoulder the month prior he didn’t think anything of it. Now, at the hospital, he was able to be with his wife and baby before taking them home. His daughter was a month early so it took some time to get her all set to leave the hospital.
Strangely, Cedillo felt something in his chest while he was in the hospital room.
A pain in his chest suddenly grew until it was completely overwhelming. It was so bad he had to lay down on his wife’s bed as he passed in and out of consciousness.
“He lost consciousness briefly and Vanessa’s nurse, Brittney, knew something was wrong,” RCH said, adding that Cedillo lost consciousness several more times, exhibited “shallow” breathing and stopped “breathing for a few seconds altogether” before he was rushed to the ER by nurses. – People
Since he was already in the hospital, he was instantly able to receive treatment.
Cedillo’s heart had a 100% blockage on his left anterior descending artery. Essentially, it was a REALLY bad blockage. He had been really achy the day before but as a professional wrestler, he didn’t think much of it. He even had some trouble sleeping that night with his shoulder and arm aching so badly. He was now facing the consequences of those warning symptoms.
The doctors are clear that if he wouldn’t have literally been on a hospital bed when it happened, things would have been much worse.
“Had Jonathan not been at the hospital when this occurred, he would have had permanent heart damage, or worse,” RCH said, noting that the doctors eventually cleared his blocked artery and put in a stent.”
“[Juliette] saved me, and I will be her sentinel and guardian as long as I can,” Cedillo told KTLA. “She was born a month early. It was like, ‘I’ve got to get out of here so I can save my daddy.'”
Whatever way you look at it, it’s a true miracle!

It’s not often that you have a life-threatening heart attack ON a hospital bed with people who can treat you waiting around. Cedillo will be able to tell his daughter how she saved his life, in more ways than one, as she grows up.
