Flying can be boring – we all know that. It’s also exhausting even though you’re just sitting there and doing nothing. It’s even a dilemma for some people. Thankfully, the captains and flight attendants are there to lessen the burden for all the passengers.
They are also the ones who make several announcements to inform, remind, and ensure the passengers that they are safe during the entire flight.
However, in the video below, the captain had a different intention with his announcement.
It was dedicated to a special passenger.
It’s Michelle A’s mom who had been a Capital Airlines flight attendant six decades ago. She chose to give up her career to prioritize her three children.
Everything is worth it for her as her kids are very close to her even now that they are grown-ups.
A few months ago, Michelle even had a special surprise for her mother during their flight. She knew that flying is something that very close to her heart.
Michelle was able to record that heartwarming moment.
Her mom got extremely surprised when she heard the announcement from the pilot because it sounded like he was talking about her.
“If you were a Capital Airlines stewardess, would you mind raising your hand,” the pilot asked.
While she was surprised and perplexed, she said, “Oh my God”. Then, she happily raised her hand.
The pilot was really referring to her and even called her “the greatest mom ever”.
Everyone clapped their hands and showed their happiness for Michelle’s mom. Those sweet words that she heard also made her emotional.
“I think I’m gonna cry,” she said while trying to hold back her tears.
The biggest surprise is the pilot who said the heartfelt words that they heard is Michelle’s brother.
And he meant every single word that he said. He knew wholeheartedly that his mother is the best. He also followed in her footsteps as he is a United Airlines pilot.
“My mom was a Capital Airlines (merged with United Airlines) flight attendant 60 years ago. She left the airlines to raise 3 children – my brother is the oldest and he followed in her footsteps as a United Captain. This week, we surprised her with her very first flight with him as the plane’s captain,” Michelle wrote.
Michelle’s brother immediately walked right up to his mom and gave her a sweet hug.
He also let her know that he loves her by telling her, “Love you.”
While in awe, the mother sincerely replied, “You had the greatest dad ever.”
“His father was a pilot,” she added.
Apparently, Michelle’s mom got really surprised by what they prepared for her. It is surely a special and unforgettable flight for her.
Even other people were touched by her children’s surprise. It’s really heartwarming.
“You know life’s too short not say how you feel about your parents. I have the upmost respect for this Captain/son to do this for your Mom. I lost my mom way too soon to cancer so this means everything to me. I have the upmost respect for the captain to do what he did,” one commenter wrote.
Another YouTuber said, “She’s obviously an unforgettable Mom! And what an awesome son she raised! In the end, she’s selfless and gives props to his Dad. Love to see this kind of love and respect!”
