If you have younger siblings, then at some point your parents probably had to break the news to you. You were going to have a baby brother or sister.
On the other hand, if you have older siblings, then they had to come to terms with the fact that they would soon be big brothers or sisters.
Now, the question is, do all children react with a smile on their face when they find out their parents will be having another baby?
Our siblings, experts say, in a way shape us. They can be our stress buffers, our inspiration, or they can even boost our love life. In some cases, however, they can set a bad example or they can even make us jealous of our partners.
Although most videos that go around show happy kids that cry happy tears when they learn about the new baby, this is not always the case.
And there’s a video on YouTube to prove it. Not every child is dreaming of becoming a big brother or sister.
In the video in question, you will find no excitement. On the contrary, it’s mostly tears. The disappointment kind.
But let’s take them one by one and see in how many ways can your children make it clear to you that they don’t want a new baby in the house.
1. “No, do not!”
For this pregnancy announcement, mom and dad printed T-shirts for their three daughters reading “THING 1/2/3” respectively. They also gave the youngest one a little onesie reading “THING ?”. When the two oldest girls realized that mom was pregnant, the middle one took the onesie and threw it on the floor, then went to her bedroom and slammed the door. The oldest one just couldn’t believe it was true.
2. Can’t take it
In this case, the couple decided to tell their baby they’ll soon have an addition to the family on the baby’s first birthday. Right there, just when the baby had blown the candle, mom and dad announced the pregnancy. The baby adorably shoved his face in the birthday cake, before starting crying.
3. “I’m happy, why aren’t you?”
This family already has two older children, who obviously don’t share the same feelings when it comes to having a new sibling. When their mom announces that they’re going to have another baby, the boy says “Yes!” as loudly as he possibly can. Next to him, his sister is so sad and starts crying, while her brother tries to calm her down by saying that it’s “awesome”.
4. “Dad, tell her you’re joking!”
Mom and dad announced to their son and daughter that they’re going to have another baby, and, while the girl looks quite indifferent, the boy starts crying, and yelling “no!” with the funniest part being when he tells his dad “tell her you’re joking”. Well, no son, they’re not.
It still remains a mystery how these children got along with their siblings, but it is more than likely that they ended up being best friends.
