Couples getting married look forward to a bright and happy future together.
They plan where they’ll live, when they’ll have a baby, and where they’ll be spending their retirement years.
Shannen Rissel and her husband Connor got married last September 2022.
Like most couples, they were quite excited to finally be husband and wife.
They’d been together for five years already, and this new chapter of their lives made everything even more exciting.
Shortly after getting married, Shannen and Connor discovered she was finally pregnant.
The baby was due in August, and they couldn’t be more excited.
It was one of the best days of their lives.
Then, the unexpected happened.
Connor passed away in his sleep.
It was unexpected and terrifying for the mom-to-be.
Shannen, with a broken heart, shared the news on her Facebook account.
In it, she shared:
“Connor was the love of my life, he was the best husband, the best friend, the best family member, the best fur baby daddy and he was also going to become a father this year in August.”
Connor’s death was a shock to everyone.
He lived a good life.
He was the adventurous type.
He loved being outdoors and being in the water.
He wasn’t afraid to try out new things.
He was creative in both art and music.
For Shannen, there’s no one else like her husband.
In the same post, she said:
“He was the most rare person you could meet and I am so proud that I got to become his wife and spend 5 years, and 4 months with him. The memories that we have I will cherish forever and I will live the rest of my days reflecting on ways I can be more like him.”
And while their child won’t be able to see him while growing up, Shannen will make sure the baby knows all about him.
The news of Connor’s passing shocked a lot of people.
One of the couple’s friends commented:
“Omg I am in shock!!! I am so sorry to hear the sad news, Shannen!! You are a strong woman, and I know you will carry his love and legacy forward. I am thinking of you and what you must be going through. Please take care of yourself and the baby girl! She will be loved!!”
Even though Connor is no longer by her side, Shannen won’t be alone.
Apart from their child, she got her family and friends who always support her.
Since Connor’s passing, she has received many calls, messages, food, and flowers.
She’s forever thankful to everyone who showed support.
In a different post, she said:
“I can’t begin to tell you how overwhelmingly special it is to know just how much you care and just how much he was loved by so many. From the bottom of my heart I’ll never be able to tell you how grateful I am.”
