There’s a lot to look forward to when attending a wedding – and it goes well beyond watching the bride and groom say “I do.” Naturally, the food, dancing, and entertainment are perks that are always exciting. But sometimes, it’s the little “imperfect” moments that make weddings extra enjoyable as a guest.
For one couple, they had a funny situation take place during their ceremony, and it involved the flower girl. What they didn’t know at the time is that it would lead to over 500K views on YouTube!
A case of the jitters
The flower girl was fully decked out in her white gown, white shoes, and white tights. She carried a little silver basked that was full of rose petals. She was all ready for her big moment – or so it seemed.
When the song started to play, the little girl got nervous. She stood at the beginning of the aisle, but she hesitated. The girl looked nervously toward her mom, who gave her a gentle push.
It was going to take more than that.
She took a few steps forward, then she stopped again. This flower girl was so shy! Again, she returned to the comfort of her mother’s side.
The girl was rerouted a second time. This time her mom whispered explicit instructions in her ear. She was to walk all the way down the aisle, just as they had practiced.
She couldn’t shake the nerves.
For a third time, the flower girl returned to the starting line. She was too scared to walk down the aisle all by herself. But who can blame her?
Kids are super adorable to have involved in weddings, as they often cause the funniest moments. Yet, being center stage in front of a sea of people isn’t the easiest thing to do. Even adults can get anxious at the mere thought of it!
Fortunately for the girl – a groomsman decided to come to her rescue.
A groomsman came from the front of the room and took the little girl by the hand. He spoke softly to her as the two marched down the aisle together.
Isn’t that so sweet? The church was all smiles watching them.
Sure, they were now moving, but there was another problem.
The flower girl still wasn’t throwing her petals! Come on kid, you had one job…
When the groomsman realized this, he did something that made the entire audience explode into a fit of laughter.
He grabbed a few petals and took on the role of flower girl himself!
No one in the room could keep from laughing as the full-grown man picked up the flower petals and flitted them around the floor. This brave soul had saved the day!
Typically a bride and groom pray that their wedding day goes smoothly. However, the little hiccups are sometimes the most priceless moments of all – especially if they get your guests laughing like this one did.
