Kudos to all the brave men and women in uniform who sacrifice their time with family and risk their lives for the country. They are why people get to enjoy their lives at home in peace, secure from foreign threats. It is not easy to enlist, pack up and leave home to be deployed overseas knowing that the risks of not making it back home are very real.
Imagine being both a father and a soldier and missing out on a lot of firsts and milestones of your child. Or not being home for special occasions and not getting the hugs and kisses from family. These guys and girls are awesome.
So whenever there’s a chance to come back home, be assured it is a wonderful moment for all.
Imagine the heightened emotions then when a soldier comes home, steps on his homeland once again and gets a more-than warm reception from family and friends. Or dog.
We can imagine the excitement this soldier had when his plane landed and he stepped through those doors where family members wait to give big hugs and shed tears of joy. For sure, both dog and soldier were waiting with eager anticipation. The soldier for his family, the dog for his human dad.
“When I came home from my last deployment my parents had a surprise in store for me. With the help of some wonderful workers, wherever you are Elizabeth; thank you, at the Detroit Metro Airport they were able to get the okay to bring my dog to the airport to meet me when we got off the plane.”
You deserve it, soldier!
The camera man (or woman) can be seen hiding behind a corner as Brent walks in with another soldier in uniform and a gentleman in civilian clothes. The man in casual attire suddenly steps to the side and pulls out a camera of his own as Brent bends down with obvious delight on his face.
He calls to his dog and his best friend goes up to him, stands on its hind legs and embraces his human.
This beautiful dog can’t contain himself.
Running around and jumping back into his owner’s arms, showering him with hugs and kisses all which Brent accepts. And just look at that tail!
This dog is armed with with all the energy in the world. A weapon of love and lots and lots of kisses.
There’s nothing like seeing families welcoming their hero home from deployment, but there is something about a dog’s reception that makes it sweeter. The love is so pure, so raw and innocent that even the hardest of hearts are guaranteed to melt.
Both man and dog share a total of over 2.6 million views and lots of comments both praising the scene and random people sharing moments of their own dogs giving testimonies of hilarious moments and heartwarming stories of love.
For once, Brent didn’t mind being attacked. He says it was one of the best days of his life. We bet it is. They really are a man’s best friend. Welcome home, soldier! Feel the love!
