What is the nicest thing a stranger has ever done for you?

One commenter shared his experience in a Reddit post.

“When I was 9 or 10 I missed the school bus. This big guy picked me up and run towards the bus screaming to try to make the bus stop. It eventually did and he put me inside of it and we then dipped, I couldn’t even say thanks. And I was a chubby one no less”

This is an example of a bus encounter; imagine if you were a mother traveling by plane.

Consider the difficulties you might experience if you travel alone with your children.

One December day, three unidentified strangers stepped in to assist a mother flying alone with her two young children.

Becca Kinsey’s two children arrived at the airport exhausted and upset.

Fortunately, there were three different kind strangers made their day a lot easier.

They traveled without their father who had just started a new job and didn’t have any vacation time yet.

Becca had just returned from Disney World with her two sons.

Wyatt, 2-year-old, and James, 5-year-old, were exhausted after several days of joyous adventure. While trying to keep her toddler calm, she misplaced her license and was then directed to the wrong side of the airport.

With only a few minutes before their flight, Becca rushed with her sons to her gate and ran into a security line.

Becca mentioned in a post,

“So I thought it was a good idea to fly by myself with a 2 yr old and a 5 year old 😐 ,” Becca shared. “We were standing in line in security, on the verge of tears because Wyatt was screaming and James was exhausted. Out of the blue, one mom stops the line for security and says “here, jump in front of me! I know how it is!”

This kind lady let Becca and her sons go ahead of her, saving them valuable time.

Then, to her surprise, another caring mother stepped forward and offered assistance as well.

“Wyatt fell asleep and I was trying to carry everyone’s carry-on when another mom jumps out of her place in line and says, “Hand me everything, I’ve got it.” When I said thank you to both of them, they said, “Don’t you worry, we’re going to make sure you get on that flight.” The second woman takes evvvverything and helps me get it through security and, on top of all that, she grabs all of it and walks us to the gate to make sure we get on the flight.”

Becca said,

“I would not have made that flight without those two women.”

These two women had greatly aided her in making it to her flight on time, and had gone above and beyond to assist her.

The woman who walked her to her gate was on a different flight in a different area. But she stayed with Becca and her sons until she was sure everything was fine.

They were able to board, but as the plane took off, her 2-year-old awoke and began crying.

“To top it all off, Wyatt starts to scream at take off before he finally falls back to sleep… I was embarrassed through this whole ordeal. I think when you’re traveling with kids, people see you and think, ‘Oh god, they are on my flight.’ And when my kid started crying, I was so worried.”

During the flight, a third kind woman approached Becca and offered her a break by holding her young child in her arms for the duration of the flight.

“After about 45 min, this angel 👇🏼 comes to the back and says, “you look like you need a break” and holds Wyatt for the rest of the flight AND walks him all the way to baggage claim, hands him to Blake [husband waiting at arrivals], hugs me and says, ‘Merry Christmas!!'”

Becca was overwhelmed by the kindness shown to her by these three different women. Her post has more than 886K reactions and shared about 130K times.

She left a note saying she wants to help pay it forward.

And that anyone moved by the kindness of these three women can help by making a small donation to the charity Kidd’s Kids. It provides 5-day Disney vacations to children with serious illnesses.

Becca believes that we can all contribute to making someone’s day a little brighter.

“You don’t need to do something big and grand to make a difference, sometimes you can just hold the door open,” Becca said.
