Watching children grow up is one of the greatest joys in life.

And it’s not just the big milestones like their first steps or day of school, it’s the little moments too!

Sometimes it’s the hilarious things they say, their crazy antics, or their burning curiosity.

Maybe it’s something as small as wanting to get involved in the chores, like making a grocery shopping list.

Little Jake Boone from Kentucky wanted to be a helpful son, and assisted his mommy with making a grocery list. And lucky for us, she caught it all on camera!

Gosh. What did we all do for entertainment before YouTube?

His adorable Southern accent and toddler’s pronunciation of words like “spaghetti” is almost too cute.

But he doesn’t let it hold him back! He’s very determined to get all the goods. He grabs a pen and paper and gets straight to the point – what do we need?

His mom starts listing off items one by one and he dutifully repeats and records each of them.

And by ‘records’, I mean ‘scribbles on the paper’. It’s very cute!

When Jake is ready, he looks back up at her for the next item, basically asking her to hurry it up.

Come on, we’ve got groceries to buy, Mama, let’s go!

His pronunciation is what you would expect of any toddler… simplified. But who needs the whole word anyway?

“We need bananas” – Mom

“We need ‘nanas. What else?” – Jake

Spaghetti becomes sketti, and tomatoes are simply ‘matoes. And of course those ‘matoes must be for the sketti sauce.

When the list is finished, and his piece of paper has many random marks on it, he doesn’t seem ready to be done with it all just yet.

He shouts back to his dad to see if he needs anything from the store so he can add more to the list.

“I was makin’ my grocery list and he come over to me and he was like ‘I want to help.’ And he asked for pad of paper and a pen, and he just started rattlin’ stuff off,” – Chrystal Logsdon told WBKO.

Chrystal Logsdon uploaded the video to Facebook, and it quickly went viral.

And after it saw so much success she decided to take a chance and send it in to America’s Funniest Home Videos. They called it “Tot Jots a Lot”. Bonus points for a rhyming title if you ask me!

It will come as no surprise to you that it made it on the show.

And not only did it just make the cut… it won! Charming little Jake and his grocery list won the family a whopping $10,000 on AFV.

Now Jake and his mom have a successful YouTube channel, called Life According to Jake Boone, where they share more of his hilarious antics.

He has moren than 35k followers who love watching him navigate life… and he even gives others directions sometimes too!

At least we know when he grows up and inevitably complains about having to pick up the shopping list, his mom will be able to show him this video! However… he’ll also be able to remind her that he pulled in a pretty significant prize and should be able to play a little longer.

I know I would have certainly used that as leverage for years and years.

Watch the dedicated little shopper go through his entire list by clicking below. Prepare for a good laugh!
