One of the greatest things about kids is their innocence. Especially when around the age of three or four, they’re just starting to figure out a few things. At the same time, they don’t comprehend in the same way that adults do, which often leads to some pretty hysterical moments.
May I, please?
Typically, small children go to their parents to ask for things like cookies or ice cream or to go outside to play. But in one family, something a little out of the ordinary happened. Their adorable little girl had a request but it wasn’t what they expected.
Maybe asking permission will help
Remember, around the age of four, kids start to learn how certain things in the world work. In particular, most of them discover that before they do something they’re not supposed to do, they should ask for permission. Now, that doesn’t mean that mom or dad will say yes, but at least the child won’t get into any trouble.
An unusual request
Well, one little girl knew she wasn’t supposed to say a bad word. She’d been raised to know that simply wasn’t allowed. But in her young mind, she thought if she asked her parents for permission, maybe, just maybe, they’d let her say it.
Captured on video
Here’s the best part, her parents captured the interaction on video. They then shared it on social media for the world to see. People couldn’t help but fall in love with this precious girl, not only because she was so adorable but also because of the “bad word” she desperately wanted to use.
She’s determined
While in a room with both parents, she first turns to her mom. That’s when she’s told that saying a bad word isn’t nice. After saying “please,” her mom tells her to ask her dad.
What will he say?
Turning her head ever so slightly, the little girl looks to her dad. In the sweetest voice, she asks, “Daddy, can I say a bad word?” That’s when he asks her what bad word she wants to say.
“Oh shoot…”
… yep, that’s the bad word. If your child came to you asking for permission to say something bad, like most everyone, you’d expect the worst. What you wouldn’t expect is for the bad word to consist of nothing more than “oh shoot.”
So disappointed
Her dad then tells her that’s not nice. In her same small voice, she innocently asks if “shoot” is okay? While you don’t see her parents in the video, they must’ve tried so hard not to laugh. Here was their daughter being so serious and without realizing it, super funny, too.
Not today
You kind of feel sorry for this girl. The look on her face says it all. She tried her best to convince her mom and dad that saying “oh shoot” was okay but they didn’t agree.
Prepare for speed bumps
If this is the couple’s only child, they’ll soon learn that life gets even more challenging. At least, their daughter came to them to get permission to say something she thought was seriously bad. And they handled the situation beautifully.
