You know the saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover”? Yeah, well this story is a more than perfect example of that.
You might think that elderly people are easier to take advantage of because of their old age, but that is simply not the case. Older folks can be just as strong, if not stronger — this is especially the case if the person just so happened to be a professional boxer.
These two terrible people attempted mugging this older man, however they failed because it turned out the man was way stronger than they thought.
This is exactly why you shouldn’t guess a person’s strengths solely based on their looks!
What’s truly a shame is that this man probably thought his fighting days were finally over. Turns out that just as he was beginning to relax, he had to whip out his athletic skills one more time, this time to fend for his possessions and his life.
These thieves are extra terrible than regular thieves. Why? Because they are thieves, which is terrible, but also because they tried to steal from someone who they thought could not defend themselves.
Footage of these two drunk men trying to mug the older man hit the Internet a few years ago in 2015 and it is still making waves. The whole incident was caught on a surveillance camera.
First, in the clip, we see one of the muggers walk up to the innocent man. The mugger appears to be screaming in his face aggressively. The man they are attempting to mug just stands there with his arms crossed in front of his chest.
Then out of nowhere, the old man swings his fist at the mugger’s face, who then falls onto the ground. The second mugger comes in trying to defend but doesn’t last long, as the man swings a punch at him too.
The second mugger doesn’t give up right away and goes in for a swing, but the older man — being a pro boxer and all — effortlessly blocks the move and comes back with another punch that throws the mugger right to the ground.
It is easily one of the most bad ass clips we have seen in a while, and the rest of the world seems to agree — it has hundreds of thousands of views.
It’s pretty crazy that the older man had both of these thieves surrendered on the ground in less than a minute. He almost made it look easy (which, it probably was for him). You can’t say he doesn’t have tremendous skill. Looks like years of fighting in his career are continuing to pay off.
And those thieves deserve what they got! Just goes to show what happens when you try to pick on the weak — or who you think is weak.
We can only hope we are half as fit as this man when we are his age. It is pretty impressive!
