Weddings are filled with heartwarming moments, but when kids are involved, the cuteness level just skyrockets.
That’s what happened when a two-year-old boy named Pierson was the ring bearer in his parents’ wedding.
Although the bride is typically the one shining in the spotlight, he ended up stealing the show in the most adorable way!
Kristie Mihelich had always dreamt of her perfect wedding day.
But little did she know that her 2-year-old son, Pierson, would become the unexpected star of it all.
Kristie and her now-husband, Bobby, had postponed their wedding due to the pandemic.
Their love story began as business partners, but fate had other plans.
Kristie told TODAY Parents, “God had really quick plans for us, because we got pregnant.”
The couple had always envisioned their son Pierson playing a special role in their wedding.
“We always planned for our son Pierson to be the ring bearer,” Kristie said.
So, when the day finally came, they got their toddler all dressed up and sent him down the aisle.
Naturally, guests couldn’t stop smiling watching him.
As the wedding ceremony began, little Pierson stood by his dad at the altar, eagerly waiting for his mom’s grand entrance.
The room was filled with anticipation as “Canon in D” played, signaling the bride’s arrival.
It was finally time!
Here’s where it got extra adorable.
The moment the doors opened, emotions ran high.
Bobby, the groom, wiped away a tear, but it was Pierson’s reaction that captured everyone’s heart.
Seeing his mom in her bridal gown, he couldn’t contain his excitement.
“Hey Mom!” he shouted, arms wide open.
The guests couldn’t help but laugh and cheer at this precious interruption.
Pierson then took off running down the aisle for his mama.
There was no holding him back.
Kristie, overwhelmed with emotion, decided to walk down the aisle with her son and her brother, Kirk.
Reflecting on that moment, she said,
“It was the sweetest thing on the entire planet. I literally could have gone home right then and been so happy with my wedding.”
But while it ended up being a priceless moment, Kristie originally wasn’t sure how Pierson was going to behave at the ceremony.
The night before the wedding, during the rehearsal dinner, Pierson wasn’t in the best of moods.
“He was screaming … and he just wasn’t having it,” she told TODAY Parents.
Thankfully, on the actual day, he was the perfect ring bearer.
The unforgettable moment went viral when Samantha Mihelich, the couple’s niece, shared it on TikTok.
Since then, it’s made headlines and warmed hearts all across the internet.
Kristie expressed her gratitude for the recording, especially since the official videographer missed capturing the moment.
For Kristie, Pierson’s infectious energy set the mood for the entire evening.
She fondly told Inside Edition:
“I’ve waited 40 years for this day and honest to goodness, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
