Did you used to have a favorite nursery rhyme when you were young?
If any of you need a little pick me up, well here you go. It is a video of little Josie at 23 months during this video. Let her light up your day with a rendition of that classic, “Old McDonald had a farm”.
This adorable little girl has the confidence to sing in front of the camera.
Red head Josie is all dressed up and pretty which must have added to her moment as she serenaded her over 12.1 million viewers.
Now of course, Josie being a toddler means that the lyrics are more of the babbling kind than the actual words being coherent. But her cuteness more than makes up for it!
She’s got the idea of the song and that’s what’s important. Listen to her sing her little heart out!
For all you new parents out there, wondering when your little one will start to sing, it is usually around the 22nd to the 24th month, Just like little Josie here. They will experiment with their own voice, trying out different pitches which sound like songs already.
It’s not like they can really pick out the right notes though. The rhythm won’t be regular or on point but to your ears, dear parent, it will be the most beautiful song ever. So get ready to applaud. Make sure to encourage the little one. You never know, he or she may be the next big thing.
Also, music plays a vital role in the development of a child.
A child’s sensory development increases, also aiding them in learning and decoding sounds and words. looks like little Josie here is on the right track!
Nursery rhymes helps children identify sound patterns by repetition. In addition, it helps them figure out sound patterns teaching them to anticipate what’s next.
Josie’s got the “Ee i ee i o!” part right that’s for sure! She’s even got that huge smile on her pretty face!
Though it looks like all the animals on that farm are pigs… Lots of oink oink going on there.
You can make out some of the words from the song considering it’s toddler talk. Words like “farm” and “dog” are quite clear before she goes on to the “woof woof here and woof woof there” part at a much higher pitch. Much higher.
Good job, little miss Josie!
I’m sure that little book you’re holding has nothing to do with your singing. Just saying.
And if you were on The Voice or American Idol, you’d have my vote. That’s for sure.
Josie moves on to the cat and the whole “meow meow here and meow meow there” which she absolutely nails! Oh and the whole part where old mister McDonald had ducks? You bet Josie got it right. She even puts extra sauce on her “quack quack” for good measure!
Now Josie is a performer. Why? On the last part of her singing, she goes up a few pitches and even holds some of the notes for that dramatic big finale effect. She’s a young talent sure to be a rising star!
A huge round of applause for Josie! Cutest rendition of a classic EVER.
Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Josie! Press play below and listen to her sing her heart out!
