Everyone knows babies are adorable, and twins just double the cuteness. These adorable twin boys stole everyone’s hearts when they were just a few days old.

Forty weeks is considered the typical gestation period of an average pregnancy.

However, most twins are born at 36 weeks.

Early delivery is due to a number of reasons such as preterm labor, preeclampsia, and placenta problems.

These issues are more prevalent when a mother is carrying multiple babies.

Mom Megan Huston from Knoxville, Tennessee, gave birth prematurely to twin boys.

She was 32 weeks pregnant when she went into labor.

She was helping her three-year-old son go to the bathroom and her water broke when she stood up from sitting on a small stool.

Megan rushed to a nearby hospital and prepared to give birth via C-section.

“I was so scared because everything was going so fast and I just prepared myself to make it to 37 weeks. I’ve never had a C-section before, and, you know, it was still early,” she told Today.

Her first twin Declan was born at 6:04 pm and brother River was born one minute later.

One twin was three pounds and 11 ounces while the other one was three pounds and 14 ounces.

Megan saw them for a while in the recovery room before they were transferred to the NICU.

“I was kind of relieved, because I was glad not to be pregnant anymore. But it was also scary, because they were a lot smaller than my other son,” she also shared.

Declan and River spent 20 days in the NICU.

The first five days were spent in separate incubators.

After the fifth day, they were reunited with each other and in their mother’s arms.

The best part about this reunion is that one baby immediately hugged the other when they were placed beside each other.

Megan’s twins are considered rainbow babies because she had a miscarriage in July, then found out she was pregnant again in August.

“The night before I took a test, I saw a double rainbow. I was pessimistic at the time, because I was very discouraged, so I thought that meant I was going to have another miscarriage,” she said.

She started bleeding and went to the emergency room thinking she was having a miscarriage.

“They did an ultrasound, found two yolk sacs, and said: ‘It’s early, but right now it looks like you have identical twins,'” Megan shared.

She laughed when she heard the news and asked the ultrasound tech to show her the ultrasound because she didn’t believe him.

Megan also shared that she was overwhelmed when she found out because she was expecting to be losing a pregnancy, but was told that she was having twins instead.

Today, Megan, her husband, and her three boys are living happily at home.

She is grateful that her husband Clayton has a good job that allows her to be a stay at home mom.

Megan is in the midst of her babies’ newborn days and she is sleeping only an hour at a time because of caring for them and her three-year-old.

Despite this, she is immensely thankful for her new sons and is a proud boy mom.
