Getting pregnant is a very exciting life event for young couples. Bringing a new life into the world is a big step for anyone and takes plenty of planning and preparation. Still, before all the hard work begins, the pregnancy announcements can be a fun opportunity for couples to get creative as well. We’ve likely all seen our fair share of novelty pregnancy pictures that have made the rounds on Facebook.

Still, the couple in the stop-motion video below truly went above and beyond.

The video was uploaded to YouTube by husband Devon Spittle and his wife Abbey.

As the clip begins, Abbey is in the kitchen chopping up a watermelon. She sits down and starts eating the fruit, all in stop-motion, and by the time she’s done she’s finished nearly half of it! She takes a moment to catch her breath, clearly full from everything she’s just eaten. After that, she gets her jacket on and goes outside to her car.

But once Abbey gets in her car, her transformation begins!

As she drives, things seem to be normal—but then her stomach starts to grow.

Finally, she arrives at a local bay shore and stops the car. When she gets out, her stomach is now fully grown! She gets out, holding her enormous belly and wanders over to a tree stump with a sign and a button on it. She inspects the sign, which reads “Press button in case of watermelon seed ingestion.” After a moment, she presses the button.

After that, the surprise is finally revealed—and Abbey is holding her newborn baby, wrapped in watermelon-themed clothes!

The video has been covered by many major news outlets and has won points for its creativity.

The entire thing is a play on the old wife’s tale that women shouldn’t eat watermelon seeds. The video takes place in British Columbia, Canada, specifically at Okanagan Lake. All told, the video reportedly was made up of more than 900 different pictures and it took a long time to shoot due to fluctuating weather conditions! Still, the video has been viewed more than a million views—so the internet has clearly responded to the clip!

Congratulations to Devon and Abbey on their beautiful daughter Poppy and thanks for the creative video!
