She has suffered from two massive heart attacks. Apart from that, her family has also been a victim of a crime.

While she was recovering in the hospital, someone broke into her home. They took their TV, clothes, and even her daughter’s little jewelry box. She came home to nothing.

And the most devastating thing that happened to her? The love of her life passed away, making her a widowed mom of four.

Despite what happened to her, Angelica remains strong.

She has lovely kids to look after. And while she’s been doing a good job staying strong for them, she can’t possibly do everything for them. She needed help.

The Surprise Squad received a letter about the family.

It’s a series sponsored by America First Credit Union and United Nissan. Its crew goes around town, looking for people to help.

After hearing what she went through, the Surprise Squad felt extra motivated to make her life better.

They planned their surprise carefully. They wanted to make sure that the single mom would feel happiness after everything.

When they were ready, Feven Kay, one of its hosts, gave her a call.

Angelica didn’t know anything about the surprise. The call was a total shock for her.

After a brief introduction, Feven asked her to share her story. Recalling the tales she had to share already brought tears to her eyes.

The events left the family scared.

In fact, her kids made it clear that they didn’t want any gifts for Christmas. All they want is to have their mom with them. They didn’t want to lose their other parent.

Angelica shared:

“My kids are so scared to like just stay upstairs because they’re always thinking something is gonna happen. So we all sleep downstairs together.”

As part of the surprise, the family was sent to a different location.

They rode a limousine which made them quite excited. While they were away, the group went to work.

They cleaned and disinfected the house. They even installed new doors and floodlights to make sure that the family remains safe.

After a few hours, it was time for the big reveal.
