Audrey Tiberius has always wanted a large family and she always had the number seven in mind.
So when the doctor told her years ago that she couldn’t have any more children because her eggs were too old, she was devastated.
But she didn’t give up. She still held on to the hope that she would still have children.
Audrey already had four boys and she really wanted to have seven children. This prompted her to also look into different fertility treatments. Unfortunately, none of them worked.
Several years later, at the age of 45, Audrey and her husband, Tyler, received the shock of their life. Audrey was pregnant!
And they didn’t need to have any fertility treatment done. She got pregnant the natural way.
“I prayed and prayed for five years to have more children because I always wanted a really big family, and seven was kind of my number,” Audrey said. “When I found out I was pregnant, finally at age 45, I was just over the moon.”
Plus they also found out she was carrying triplets. With the four sons she already has, Marcus, 13, James, 11, Christian, 9, and Max, 7, she finally got her magic number of seven children!
And there’s one word to describe this news, a miracle.
Dr. Lisa Thiel, a maternal-fetal medicine specialist at Spectrum Health West Michigan, said that the odds of getting pregnant at 45 without any type of fertility treatment is very rare.
In fact, the odds of getting pregnant at 45 are 1 in 100 and even if they do get pregnant, the chances of miscarriage are high. And the odds of getting pregnant with triplets are 1 in 10,000.
The odds of getting pregnant at 45 with triplets? 1 in 20 billion.
A miracle? Very much so.
And Audrey knew the risk she had carrying triplets at her age so she did what she could. She learned to trust her body and trust her faith.
“I prayed that my babies would be safe and that I would deliver them when I was supposed to — and that’s what happened,” Audrey shared.
Audrey delivered three healthy and happy baby boys, Sky, River, and Bay, on March 30, 2022.
Now their home is baby town central. All of them are juggling three babies at once and there are times, especially when they’re far from her when she can’t tell them apart because they’re so identical.
“I pump breast milk for my babies, I feed babies, I change babies, I burp babies, I hold babies, then I repeat that all day long,” Audrey said.
She is currently looking for milk donors as well so she can spend still spend time with her seven children. Pumping all that milk for three babies takes her around seven hours every day.
But even with all that chaos, Audrey still welcomes having more children.
“I really wanted a daughter. My husband says, ‘Hey, obviously the sky’s the limit on what could happen.’ So, maybe we’re not done. Who knows?” Audrey stated.
Right now, she and her family are simply enjoying their biggest blessing, the triplets.
