There are lots of women that dream of having a big family.

But in their wildest dreams, it’s likely they’ve never imagined being mom to as many children as Courtney Rogers has.

The 36-year-old, who lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, gave birth to her 11th child in November.

That’s enough to make most moms’ heads explode just thinking about it.

But not Courtney.

She says she is up for having as many as 14 children. Courtney started her family when she married her husband Pastor Chris in October 2008.

“We want to have more if we can,’ said Courtney. ‘We want to have 12 children, a family of 14 even,” she told The Sun.

And she’s been pregnant every year since.

The couple has six boys and five girls and she hasn’t gone more than nine months without being pregnant since she married.

The Rogers, who met at a church camp in Georgia in 2007, live on a 12-acres farm where they home school their children and foot a $1,200 grocery bill each month.

As most unusual situations do, Courtney says her family’s lifestyle is subject t0 criticism.

“The people who ask how I can give all my kids enough attention are usually those who send their kids off to school,” she explained. “I do not understand their logic when I am around my kids 24 hours a day.”

Sometimes people just assume things about her situation and judge her off the bat.

“We’ve also had a few rude encounters. From unpleasant stares to statements like, ‘Did you have them all with the same partner?!’ or ‘Seven kids? That’s terrible!'” she told Love What Matters.

Courtney says her children get to enjoy the flexible and enriched learning experience of enjoying nature in between lessons rather than sitting still for hours in a classroom.

When Courtney isn’t teaching her own kids, she also teaches Sunday school at church for local children. But Courtney isn’t pretending that it’s all a breeze.

“Of course managing so many littles has its challenges. Even though they may drive me batty at times I can’t imagine being happy doing anything else. Some of the challenges are having multiple babies in diapers, finding more than one sitter at a time, having to book more than one hotel room, driving and parking a 15-passenger van, washing tons of laundry, always cleaning up messes, etc., etc.,” she tells

“Oh! And did I mention the staring and comments we get out in public? The ‘You must have your hands full’ comments when I’m out with just two or three of the children are always amusing. If they only knew! Once when I was out with two of my girls, someone asked if I was going to try for a boy. I had to break the news to her I already had six boys.”

For now, Courtney is enjoying welcoming her the newest member of the Rogers family to the clan, 6-month-old Caris.

There’s no word on when she’ll get started on the next one.

“Until then, I reckon we’ll continue to take them as they come and celebrate each positive pregnancy test and the unique little life it brings. Children are a blessing indeed,” she says.
