Samantha Frye is no stranger to the hustle and bustle of the food service industry.

From washing dishes to serving tables and eventually cooking, she’s done it all at Rosalie’s Restaurant.

But what’s truly remarkable is that she now owns this Ohio eatery, a feat she accomplished at the tender age of 18, using her hard-earned savings.

“I started working when I was 14 and then when I was 16, I got two jobs, one of them being here,” Samantha shared, as reported by USA Today.

“I eventually had three jobs at one point. And then I worked with my dad. So, basically, I just worked a lot.”

Initially, Samantha had set her sights on college, saving diligently for her environmental engineering studies at Ohio State University.

However, when she learned that Rosalie’s was on the market, she couldn’t resist the opportunity and decided to pivot her career path.

It was a good move.

Brandi Beitzel, Samantha’s mother, initially struggled with her daughter’s choice.

“I was not on board with her leaving OSU and taking on such a huge responsibility at her age,” Brandi confessed.

“But over time, I warmed up to it and realized that it might not have been the path I envisioned her on but it’s the path she wanted to take.”

Today, Brandi is brimming with pride for her daughter’s achievements.

“She’s always been a go-getter,” she said. “Sam just has me in awe! I think back to when I was her age and there is no way I would have had the knowledge or the courage, or even be able to wrap my mind around the enormity of owning a restaurant.”

Although Samantha has put her college degree on hold, her passion for the environment remains strong.

She has ambitious plans to make her restaurant more sustainable.

“I want to start doing compost eventually, so we’re not wasting as much food,” she expressed.

While Samantha is eager to bring about some changes at Rosalie’s, she has no plans to alter its name.

“It’s working,” she reasoned. “Why change it?”
