There’s nothing more emotional than first laying eyes on a brand new baby. In fact, the moment can be so special that even a child can be overpowered by the feelings of joy.
In a video posted online, a little girl is so happy meeting her new sister that she’s actually brought to tears. The footage is sweet as pie and it’s melted the internet’s heart into a puddle.
It was the best gift anyone could ask for.
When six-year-old Addy was finally able to visit her mom in the hospital – she walked into the room with the biggest smile on her face. After all, she had waited months and months to meet her tiny sibling.
Some might equate the feeling to it being like your birthday, Christmas, and all the other holidays wrapped into one.
Once Addy gets steps nearer to her mom’s bed and sees the newborn, the emotions start to take over.
She quickly admits, “I’m gonna cry!” Wearing a huge grin the girl can’t even keep her hands still she’s so excited about it all.
Finally, Addy has the chance to gaze down at her new sister’s face – and there was no holding back. Her eyes fill with tears and she begins to sob at the precious sight.
Do you need a tissue? Because I need a tissue.
This angel deserves the biggest hug ever.
Addy is so sweet she tells her mom, “She’s so cute!” through her tears. Of course, the girl wants to gently touch the baby, but mom has to stop her.
The woman says:
“I know you want to touch her, but you can’t right now, okay, because she just came out. But you will!”
She then assures her daughter that she’ll let her help feed the baby when they get home. Don’t worry kid, a mom will never turn down a little helper!
After the emotional moment, Addy wipes away her tears and goes to sit with her mom on the hospital bed.
The footage is aww-worthy enough to pull on your heart-strings. In just a couple of days, it’s been watched several thousand times online.
While this is a very touching reaction to meeting a new sibling, let’s face it, not all kids are the same.
The internet is full of all kinds of responses – from funny ones to kids freaking out just hearing that mom’s pregnant! One person posted their comical story on YouTube:
“Well, totally opposite with me. My mom told me that I threw out my brother’s baby bag when they came home from hospital.”
On the Working Mother website, they shared the following from a Reddit user:
“My 3yo was excited about it until she actually arrived and realized he wasn’t the center of attention anymore. He then very politely asked if she could please go back into my tummy.”
In regards to Addy and her new baby sister, someone else wrote on YouTube:
“She already has the best friend and secret holder for life. And she’s not even a day old. To have a older sibling is a blessing. She will always love cherish and look up to her example for the rest of her life.”
