Seeing your child playing, scattering all the toys, and learning how to express themselves is such a beautiful experience.
It’s true, isn’t it? Time flies, and soon your child will start going to school.
Most parents who realize this feel nervous, and even worried.
“It’s such a big world out there.”
It’s not just us, the parents, who feel like this.
Even our little ones could feel anxious about a new routine.
This is what Louis and Maria Roberts found out when their son, Luca, started Pre-K last 2021.
According to Louis, little Luca is a routine-oriented child, and attending Pre-K was indeed a big change for him.
Spending quality time with your kids can help them learn valuable life lessons, such as how to show respect to others.
You are also giving them strength and comfort, especially on big changes like starting school.
“Luca is very routine-oriented and when he’s about to do something new, that’s the uncomfortable piece for him,” Louis Roberts told in an interview with Good Morning America.
Wanting to create a fun routine for his son, Louis Roberts, the boy’s father, came up with a brilliant idea.
Each day, they wake up a few minutes early and leave the house ahead of time.
They would make a couple of stops on the way to school so that Luca would feel at ease.
One of those stops was a coffee shop just around the area, and that was the start of a beautiful new routine.
Every day, Louis and Luca would stop at a nearby coffee shop, and they would have their early morning coffee date.
Luca’s thoughtful and sweet father thought of this to help his son feel comfortable going to school.
Aside from that, the father and son created a bonding moment like no other.

They have been going to Bwè Kafe every day that they don’t need to order anymore.
The cafe staff knows the drill.
As soon as they see the father and son coming to their coffee shop, they start preparing their order.
“They have my, you know, large cold brew [and] what they call a ‘babyccino,’ which is just steamed milk and like a little to-go coffee cup,” explained Louis.
Babyccino is a steamed milk in a coffee cup. How adorable is that?
Of course, their morning routine consists of Louis checking up on his son.
They talk and they bond.
That’s one of the most beautiful things that we, the parents, could do for our kids.
Being there for them, asking how was school, if they are facing any challenges, and so much more.
By engaging in a meaningful conversation with them, we’re building a strong emotional connection and we are also making sure that we’re present in their lives.
Louis and Luca’s 15-20 minutes of coffee time every day has established this and so much more.
As a bonus, Luca looks forward to this coffee morning date every day and he no longer feels anxious going to school.

Soon, Luca’s sister is also going to Pre-K.
Louis said that he will also bring her little girl with their morning coffee routine.
We’re excited to see that update!
